Christine Macaulay; freelance designer, occasional illustrator, and one half of an obscenely talented styling duo. Yes, this is one exceptional individual, and believe me when I say, this is only the beginning.
Christine is currently working freelance developing a collection of luxury day/ evening wear for independent boutique Emma Somerset (www.emmasomerset.co.uk). Christine has also been working on a collection of accessories, collaborating with illustrator/ artist Hazel Pybis Potter (www.myspace.com/hazelpybispotter ). The Collection is set to blend her own exciting style with Pybis' hand drawn whimsical prints reminiscent of things past. Chrstine will also be providing prints for the 'I Dont Like Mondays' (www.idontlikemondays.us) debut range alongside Cassette Playa, Imitation Of Christ, Micheal & Hushi, Pleasure Principle and Kenzo Minami. Christine previously worked as a design guru for highstreet retailer mkone (www.mkone.co.uk), prior to mkone Christine worked designing women's casual wear for River Island LONDON (www.riverisland.com), Christine started her arduous adventures working alongside the design team at French Connection LONDON (www.frenchconnection.com) developing the Spring/Summer 2005 collection.
The following January, Christine worked as assistant stylist to Bonita Bryg. Bryg is best known for styling major international pop acts such as Take That and Lulu, as well as Pop Idol and spectacular theatre productions such as Burn the Floor and On Eagle's Wing. Over the following six months the intrepid duo styled the entire cast of new musical, Love Shack (www.loveshackthemusical.com), following through from initial castings to sell out tour.
In July 2005 Christine moved to New York on a temporary basis to intern with designer, Maria Cornejo, Christine assisted with Cornejo's label, ZERO (http://www.zeromariacornejo.com). All the while, Christine was steadily making waves on her BA design course, and in June 2006, her Spring/Summer 2007 collection opened the Manchester Metropolitan University show at Graduate Fashion Week, Battersea Park, London.
